Paws on the Path: My Journey to Spread Joy

Hello, friends, both two-legged and four! It's me, Eddings, the Border Collie on a mission to become a beacon of comfort and joy as a certified therapy dog with McNab Wellness. I wanted to share a little about my journey, the bumps, the triumphs, and everything in between. So, grab your favorite chew toy, settle in, and let me take you on a tail-wagging adventure from my very own pawspective.

Life’s been quite the whirlwind lately. You see, I’ve embarked on a path that’s both exciting and a bit daunting. I’m learning how to be a therapy dog, a companion who brings smiles and solace to those in need. It's a big responsibility, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure I could do it at first. The world is so big, and I’m just one dog. How could I make a difference?

My classes have begun, and wow, it's a whole new world of commands, cues, and lots of treats (the best part, if you ask me). But more than that, it’s about connecting, understanding, and being there for someone. It’s not always easy. Sometimes, I get distracted by a fascinating scent or the rustle of leaves. My mind wanders, wondering if it’s a squirrel or just the wind playing tricks.

And then, there’s the matter of confidence. Between you and me, sometimes I find it hard to believe in myself. The bustling world around me can feel overwhelming, making me wonder if I’m cut out for this important job.

But here’s the thing - every time I look into Elizabeth and Rob’s eyes, I see something that makes my tail wag faster than the speed of light. I see belief, love, and a little spark that says, “You’ve got this, Eddings.” They remind me that it’s not just about being perfect; it’s about showing up, giving your best, and letting your heart lead the way.

So, I’m learning to take it one step at a time, to breathe in the world around me and remember why I’m here. With each new lesson, I grow a little more. I learn that it’s okay to stumble, as long as you get back up, shake off the dust, and try again. And most importantly, I’m discovering the power of a gentle nuzzle, a soft gaze, and the silent language of companionship that speaks volumes to those in need.

To all my furry friends out there thinking about embarking on their own journeys, whether it’s therapy work, mastering a new trick, or overcoming your fears, remember this: You are capable of incredible things. It doesn’t matter how big the world is; what matters is the size of your heart and the strength of your spirit.

And to the humans reading this, thank you for believing in us, for seeing the potential within our wagging tails and eager eyes. Together, we can make the world a little brighter, one paw print at a time.

So, here’s to the journey ahead, filled with learning, love, and lots of belly rubs. I may not know exactly what tomorrow brings, but I do know that with every step, I’m closer to fulfilling my mission of bringing joy and comfort to those around me.

Woofs and wags,

Eddings
